lightcast is not exclusively a sapphic or queer streaming platform but we are initially centering sapphic stories and fandoms. There is an epidemic of cancellation and erasure of sapphic stories that needs to be addressed. We plan to showcase sapphic stories and queer artists in our inaugural catalog and then expand to other stories and fandoms after that. lightcast is committed to creating a financially equitable environment and believes strongly in properly compensating artists for their work. We will be employing a profit-sharing model. For work that is attributed to another production company or person(s) not working under lightworks - our in-house production company - compensation will be divided between lightcore and the decision-makers of the work in question through the proposed model of ad-revenue. For work that is attributed to lightworks, we endeavor to use a profit-sharing model in which everyone involved in the production gets a fair cut.
There will be no generative AI used within any of lightcore's ventures. Ever.
